W
elcome!
This idea for My Hope Bag came about when I was diagnosed with breast
cancer in December 2009. I don't remember much that the Dr. said after, "It IS
cancer." The Dr. was talking about this treatment and that treatment, and what the
expected outcome might be. Again, it just didn't sink in. Though I have a very
loving family, for the first time in a long time I felt very alone.
Sound
familiar?
I
had wonderful doctors through my experience. I was given medical
information and plenty of options but one thing I was without was hope.
That absence of hope led me to realize my mission: to bring hope back
into a woman's life when she is diagnosed with this horrible disease.
With the
information provided in My Hope Bag, a woman can find support from other women who
have gone through her type of cancer as well as medical information on
what to expect through her journey. We have also added items of comfort for her
time alone while meditating, praying or just thinking about things to come.
It is my sincere hope and desire that My Hope Bag
will bring comfort to women facing their seemingly darkest hour and
that when they survive this disease, they can turn around and give hope
to other women. Together, we can all share hope with women everywhere!
